Makeup Help

By | February 27, 2013

photo00036I feel like I look really plain. I can’t ever find a good color of lipstick so my lips never have any color. I’m scared to try anything really bold because I’m so fair skinned. Any suggestions on how to spice up my look? My everyday makeup routine consists of: foundation, powder, blush, and mascara. I throw on some chapstick and call it good. Any suggestions would be very much apprecitated. πŸ™‚

i’m like you as far as the lipstick goes but i have big eyes so i play up on them. when i put makeup on, i use powder(i hate the feeling foundation leaves me), blush, eyeliner, eyeshadow, and mascara. than like you i usually use something like soft lips and thats it.

Maybe some brown eyeliner and brown eye shadow in the crease of your eyelid with cream colour below the eye brow. Maybe a dark red lip with gloss on top. The best way is just to play with colour, my rule of thumb I wear whatever colour eye shadow to match what I am wearing.hope that helps less is always more with makeup….wear it to inhance your features

I don’t know what my good features are.Lol. This picture is at a good angle luckily, but straight on I have a pretty round face. I always feel like it’s chubby. How do I make my cheekbones more defined? Are those even a good feature of mine? I’m totally clueless about all of this, sorry. πŸ™

Some eyeliner and shadow would really make your eyes pop, and then they’ll stand out against the rest of your face. I use black liner and pink shadow πŸ™‚

Simple things will help you out! I can’t tell what colour your eyes are, but go to the store (like CVS or something) and look at the Almay section. They have these trios that come with the eyeliner that bring out the colour of your eyes. Like for me, my eyes are green, so I use purples and pinks to bring out the colour. And also, when you’re looking for lipstick/lip gloss, look for something that’s the same shade as your lips. That way it won’t be too overpowering, but you’ll look finished, you know? One other thing you can do to test things out is go to marykay.com and they have a virtual makeover where you can upload your picture and put on all kinds of makeup to see what you’d look like!

Sounds like you’ve got the basics down. Why are you afraid to play up your eyes Sweetie? I’ve been fair skinned all of my life as are my girls.and I’ll tell you, they WOW those eyes up!!!! You’re young enough where you can wear any colour and make it sing!!! πŸ™‚ These ladies have all given you FANTASTIC advice!

Now, for the cheekbones since your face is round, begin your blush at the outside of your face near the temples. This will create a slimming effect. To find where you should apply blush, just feel along your cheekbones and apply the blush πŸ™‚ What I like to do is put a highlighter colour (usually a shimmer white) just above where I’ve placed the blush to really accentuate the cheekbones!
    Hope this helps!

I think you should use lip-gloss. That way it’s not too bold but the shine will bring out your lips. They have plumping lip-gloss too if you want them to look a little bigger. I think you should try bringing out your eyes more. You don’t have to go crazy with it. Use natural earth tone eye shadows and some eyeliner along with some mascara will bring them out. You really don’t need a lot of makeup. You are a natural beauty.

Try a sheer pinky gloss… I got this light pink glass on eye lips face. com and it was a dollar.. I LOVE IT. Of course it’s not worth just getting one thing since shipping is like 7 bucks…. but… there’s also some I think Neutrogena sheer pink shimmer gloss too. I always play up my eyes s never wear lipstick or too dark of anything on my lips… but sometimes I need something. Oh I use a sheer dark pink lip glass as well from MAC… that’s pretty great and puts colour on your lips but not over bored and it smells so good.
